Job description

The Technical Lead is responsible for a full range of activities that are required to deliver business valued technical solutions to the enterprise. These activities include requirements definition, system and infrastructure design, development, test planning, test execution and direct interaction with the business area(s), enterprise architecture, and other projects and programs within the organization. You will lead and coordinate all technical aspects of the GuideWire Claims Upgrade project, partnering with each area (for example: Data, Integration, Infrastructure, Program Management, and Change Management) to ensure their technical needs are met. Responsible for identifying the need for, and managing the IT resources at a program level for those resources assigned to the project. In addition, you will work closely with the Architectures practice to ensure alignment to architectural principles and standards. You will also maintain alignment to an overall and Global IT transformation strategy and communicate the key program details to various stakeholders within the business, IT and the organization.


  • Experience with Guidewire
  • Bachelor's degree in information management, business or finance, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of information systems experience
  • Proven track record in defining and implementing full solutions
  • Working knowledge of Claims systems
  • Sound technical knowledge and excellent development skills
  • Experience in leading a team of developers, solution architects, and other IT resources
  • Insurance industry experience or experience working with insurance systems
  • Knowledge in web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture
  • Experience with programming languages such as JAVA/.NET, SQL Server, Data Modeling
  • Familiar with agile software development methodologies as well as plan-driven delivery methodologies (e.g. Unified Process or Waterfall)
  • Ability to meet and coordinate multiple tasks and tight deadlines
  • Ability to function as a team member and work with many different stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong customer service skills and behaviors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 20% Domestic & International Travel


  • Demonstrated ability to manage, direct and deliver on large program initiatives
  • Experience in supervising geographically distributed development teams
