Our globally respected client is seeking to recruit a Corporate & Portfolio Actuary to provide oversight of the Management of their Life & Health portfolio and to assume the associated corporate reporting responsibilities.

Our globally respected client is seeking to recruit a Corporate & Portfolio Actuary to provide oversight of the Management of their Life & Health portfolio and to assume the associated corporate reporting responsibilities.

In addition, it is expected the role will involve periodic support for projects and other teams within the Group. The successful candidate will have a key role in working with senior management, both locally and within the wider Group. As part of exercising these responsibilities, periodic travel will be expected.

This is a challenging role and an exciting opportunity with potential for growth. It requires a candidate with several years of Life reinsurance experience, a strong understanding of Life reinsurance risks, strong technical and influencing attributes, and excellent communication skills. The candidate should have an inquisitive and entrepreneurial type mind-set.

Management Responsibilities:

  • to provide oversight of the valuation of Life & Health technical liabilities under various bases (e.g. in relation to assumption setting and valuation methodologies)
  • to ensure the management of the portfolio is sound and to contribute to optimising the economics of business

Both aspects will involve identifying and effecting change as necessary.

Corporate Actuarial Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the role will span all aspects of Corporate Actuarial Reporting and will include the following areas:

  • Solvency II Reporting
    • Actuarial Function Report
    • Regular Supervisory Report ("RSR")
    • Solvency and Financial Condition Report ("SFCR")
    • Quantitative Reporting Templates

  • Corporate Tasks
    • Board and Audit Committee reporting
    • Risk reporting
    • Liaising with external audit
    • Project involvement or Group support as required
    • New business deal reviews as required

Education and Experience:

  • Qualified Actuary
  • 5+ years PQE in Life or Reinsurance
  • University degree in Mathematics or Actuarial Science
  • Track record in developing and implementing solutions
  • Strong project management experience preferable
